Remove vocals from a song
- Import a WAV, M4A or MP3 file, or tap "Try the 12-second sample".
- Open "Split vocals & instruments". Choose a section, or tap "Use whole recording" for a file up to 2 hours.
- The first split downloads a 233 MB model. Allow internet access and at least 1 GB free for setup. Later splits work offline with the cached model.
- Choose "Instrumental" for the music without the vocal part. Listen or export a WAV. Choose Vocals, Drums, Bass or Other for an isolated part.
- Tap "Edit this stem" and select a section to change speed, pitch or repeats. Tap "Play passage", then "Export" to keep the adjusted WAV.
Speed, key and export
Speed ranges from 0.25× to 2×, and pitch from −12 to +12 semitones. A/B markers select a section up to 10 minutes for these edits. Export saves the prepared WAV, up to 1 hour including repeats; use Save to Files or another destination in the share sheet.
Duration and storage
Separation supports 0.1 seconds to 2 hours. For recordings longer than 2 hours, select a shorter section. Keep the app open while splitting; going to the background cancels the operation. After model setup, allow about 2.7 GB free for a 20-minute split or 15.4 GB for 2 hours. The app shows a storage estimate before starting.
Audio and model files
Audio processing runs on your device. Model setup downloads data from Hugging Face; it does not upload your recording. Remove the downloaded model from the separation screen. Delete kept exports in Files. All current tools are free, with no account or subscription.
