Moving from another notetaker
Bring existing recordings into Meetings, then search them and ask questions alongside recordings made in Stenograf. Choose the guide for the tool you use.
Choose your starting point
- Granola — connect your account and import the transcripts your plan makes available.
- Otter.ai — connect your account and bring over accessible conversations.
- Fireflies.ai — import meeting transcripts and check the result before retiring your notetaker.
- Zoom — record future calls directly or import an audio recording on your Mac.
Where imports live
Open Settings → Connected apps to connect Granola, Otter.ai or Fireflies.ai. Choose Connect, authorize the connection in your browser, then check its status. Use Import transcripts to request another sync. While Stenograf is running, connected sources are checked every fifteen minutes.
The current app offers these three account connections and Meetings → Import audio on macOS. It does not expose a general transcript-file or pasted-text import dialog. Keep any text exports as a separate archive; they are not an alternative button in the current interface.
Check what arrived
Open a few imported meetings in Meetings. Check the title, date, speaker labels and transcript, then search for a phrase you remember. Imported meetings carry a source label. Names provided by the source are transcript labels, not newly enrolled voice profiles.
Import coverage depends on the meetings and transcripts your source account can access. A meeting with no available transcript may be counted without becoming a saved recording. Verify your important meetings before cancelling a subscription or deleting the originals.
Use the imported meetings
Open a saved meeting to review its summary, correct the transcript and ask questions in the chat below. Use Chats for questions across saved meetings, or People to find meetings involving a person.
